When I was eight, my neighbors hung a sign next to their pool. It said, "Welcome to our OOL! There's no P in it! Let's keep it that way!" I read this and was stunned. It was exquisite. A comedic triumph. It was the first time somebody told me what to do and I liked it. For the rest of the summer, any chance I could tell the “OOL” joke or pee in a pool, I did. Now I basically make really expensive pool signs.
